Gotta love TOMS

If your anywhere near a beach community or have been paying attention to trends in shoes at all you probably have noticed the new TOMS craze. The TOMS brand is not only popular but a huge role model for other retailers. This company was created by a man named Blake Mycoskie in 2006. This world traveler came to realize that a lot of third world countries had people who could not even afford to buy their children a pair of shoes to protect their feet so he created the one for one motto. For every shoe a customer buys he gives a pair to a child in need.I took an interest in TOMS because it combines a sense of relaxed fashion as well as stands for something great at the same time. Fashion is at its best when its giving back.

These shoes are comfortable, in style and are part of a strong movement so you can not go wrong. TOMS offer several different styles. They have the Botas which look like retro sneakers and they are offered in many different colors or prints.
They also have Cordones which resemble Keds and they also come in different colors and prints

The most popular shoe hey sell is the TOMS classic, the classic comes in a variety of colors and prints and even unique glitter versions.

TOMS even has a section of Vegan shoes that are not made with any animal products. This shoe is made with pesticide free fabric, recycled and sustainable material.

TOMS has been working to spread their good natured attitudes to other companies,Ralph Lauren co-branded with TOMS for Polo shoes which for every pair sold they gave another pair away. Element skateboards also joined TOMS and for every skateboard bought they sent one to a child at a skate camp in South Africa. If you want more information on the TOMS way of life you should look at their website, they are looking to start TOMS clubs at college campuses and have great internship opportunities.http://www.toms.com/.

Rockin the Maxi

The new dress style to wear this season... A maxi dress. What girl doesn't love wearing a comfortable flowy dress? Maxi dresses are everywhere and available in many different styles. You can wear them on the weekend with strappy flats for a more casual look or pair it with wedges or heels for a night out. These dresses are avaiable at every price level...

The two dresses above are available at Anthropologie. The dress on the left is in a cream cotton with a ruffle at the bodice and hem, which is available for $228. This would be perfect to wear for a day at the beach. Pair it with flats to look more casual or wedges to look a little more dressed up. The dress on the right is a silk bandeau maxi and tie halter at the neck. This dress is more formal and would look best dressed up with heels. It is available for $478.

The three dresses above are available at Forever 21. These are all more casual takes on the maxi dress. Pairing them with flats or wedges would be perfect. If you want to dress these up a little more, just accessorize. The dress on the left is a tribal tube top and is available for $12.40. The maxi in the middle is a 3/4 sleeve, scoop neck knit dress available in oatmeal and is $22.80. The dress on the right is a floral spaghetti strapped dress also available for $22.80.

These two dresses are available at Bloomingdale's. The dress on the left is another take on the tribal print dress; it is a tube top that would be the perfect dress to wear with strappy flats for a laid-back weekend chic look. It is available for $108. The dress on the right is a v-neck spaghetti strap in a black and white stripe. This dress is great on its own, pair it with some cute black wedges and it would look awesome!
So, as you can see the maxi dress is available everywhere, in many different styles. Wear something like this and you are sure to get plenty of complements. Go out and find the look that fits you best and rock that maxi!

feather flurry

Although every beach girl loves spending all of her time and money on new clothes we can not forget about our accessories. When it comes to our hair its always easy to emphasize it with a hat or headband but 2011 is the year for adding small accents. A new trend that has been catching on is called feather hair extensions. These extensions are feathers that you can wash, straighten or curl and they last for about a month. Most hair salons are just getting these in and they range from 10 to 20 dollars. It also does not destroy your hair because it just a ceramic bead they press down over the feathers and its easy to take out.

A lot of people choose more natural colors so it stands out flare but doesn't clash with your other clothes and accessories. But if you want the feathers come in all sorts of crazy colors and designs to choose from. Another hair accessory that has made a comeback is tinsel. Tinsel is just as easy and inexpensive it put in your hair and its perfect for a weekend in Las Vegas where you really want to shine or even just a fine night out with your friends.
